Bcgeu Collective Agreement Benefits

Once your child is born, you can include it in your benefit plans by submitting the « Collective Benefits Plan » form/modification (PDF, 378 KB). Insurance companies follow the guidelines below to determine which plan is paid first and how benefits are calculated. Your benefits will be taken into account on the first of the month following your application, unless there is a waiting time. Changes in coverage take effect, as long as you are active in the workplace. If you have waived your obligation, are not entitled to your allowance, or have deferred your allowance, your benefits will be maintained (if you do not cancel them), but all optional life insurance plans will be terminated. If you want to take longer child care leave after parental leave and maintain your benefits, you must pay the premiums. For more information, visit the Career – MyHR Benefits page during the holidays or Layoff. Your spouse of matrimonial or legal law (same sex or opposite) who lives with you is entitled to coverage. By enrolling your spouse in your common law benefit plans, you declare that person as your common law spouse, and you have been in a common law relationship or have been living together for at least 12 months. The lifespan may be less than 12 months if you claim your spouse`s child or children tax. A separate form is not required. By enrolling your spouse in the common law program, you are declaring that person as your common law spouse.

A separate form (declaration) is not required. If your leave is longer than 90 days and you do not retain your optional life insurance benefits, any optional coverage that does not require proof of insurability may be reintroduced, but you must requalify and provide proof of insurability for the spouse`s optional and/or optional life insurance. If benefits are paid to you due to an accidental split or loss of visual money and you die as a result of that injury, the payment to your beneficiary will be reduced by the benefit you received prior to your death. The carrier pays monthly benefits. Copies of receipts, as treatment progresses, must be submitted monthly (do not keep receipts until treatment is complete). You can submit monthly claims via GroupNet. If the leave is included in Part 6 of the Employment Standards Act, your benefits will continue with non-optional life insurance plans. Read the Benefits While on Leave or Layoff page on Career – MyHR for detailed information. To check your benefits or apply for them, visit GroupNet. You are allowed (and you can sign up for the benefits program) which is available to excluded staff. More information can be found in the « Who is entitled to benefits? » section in the « Benefits for Excluded Employees » section on Career – MyHR. Complete and sign a Group Life beneficiary name (PDF, 174KB).
